"Oh me? I just came as myself."

With Halloween approaching, I need to address this issue. It doesn’t matter if you go to a fall festival, a costume party, an “alter-ego” party….there’s always that person. They don’t wear a costume, which is fine. What isn’t fine is what they say. They just have to say it, even when they’re not asked: “Oh me? I just came as myself.” And then there’s laughter. Why is this funny? You didn’t come as yourself. You just didn’t wear a costume.
