wow, didnt know that laura! so many things happen in music like that. strawberry fields sounds like it does because john couldnt choose between the version with brass and the one without, so he said to george martin, ‘i want both” and george said “but one’s faster than the other”, and lennon, said,” oh youll figure it out” and he slowed one version down so they played together, but it gives it that out of synch feel!

Oh, I love that part on “Hell Freezes Over”. Hey, did you know that grinding rhythmic thing you refer to in “Creep” was not planned? Jonny was tired of playing the song and was trying to mess it up….but they ended up keeping it!

There are many defining moments in rock. Let me give you some examples: the lingering chord at the end of “A Day in the Life” by the Beatles. The moment when the audience realise its Hotel California in the Hell Freezes over concert, and….

The bit in “Creep” by Radiohead where the guitar plays that damped rhythmic thing before exploding with the power chord. If they never write another song, their work here is done.
